TORONTO:
Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan is coming to Toronto to pump up the slowing condo market.
King Khan will be here in April to endorse one of the largest real estate events in Canada's largest city.
The Home and Condo Sale event takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Center here from April 12 to 14.
Expected to draw crowds of over 20,000, The Home & Condo Sale offers an opportunity for over 200 Canadian builders, developers and realtors to target global and local buyers to be under one roof over a single weekend.
Organizers say they expect to make history by selling over $1 billion dollars worth of real estate over one weekend.
"Some of the largest builder developers of low rise and highrise communities have already signed on as exhibitors as well as boutique and custom builders from across Ontario's regions,'' said Caroline Jeba, whose company The Catur Agency, is organizing the event.
"Our builder developers come from across Ontario including Durham, York, the Greater Toronto Area, Halton, Peel and more."
She said, "Bollywood's megastar Shahrukh Khan will touch down in Toronto to promote the special weekend event. He will be at the VIP event on April 12."
Jeba said the King of Bollywood is coming for this event because of The Home and Condo Sale's sheer size and global outreach. The mandate of the sales event is to showcase the ultimate choice of locations and product offerings developed by Canada's most preeminent developers and the goal is to enlighten not just locally but reach out to a global audience.
"The Home and Condo Sale is in essence a celebration of the audacity and resilience of our builders," said Jeba, who along with a panel of speakers from the real estate industry, addressed the group of builders, real estate agents and media here last week.
"Canada is a great place to live. The very best of builders and developers will come together under one roof in April, and we will put Toronto on the map of real estate," said Jeba.
Shahrukh Khan, along with a contingent of Bollywood stars, will be in Vancouver for the 2013 inaugural Times of India film awards to be held on April 6.
The star, who has been named one of the 50 most powerful people in the world by Newsweek and boasts a net worth of over US$557.5 million, has acted in over 70 films making him the crowned king of box office hits like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam and Kal Ho Na Ho.
