A mother of two small children was found murdered in Surrey, British Columbia, and her husband has been charged.
Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, IHIT, said the woman was reported missing to police.
Police went to the home of 32-year-old Tejinder Kaur Dhanoa where she had lived with her husband Kamaljit Singh Dhanoa and two young children. They found the body inside the home, which is located in the 1300-block of English Place.
“It was a report of a missing woman through a relative,” said Carr about the tragic discovery. “Investigators worked through the evening and they learned that she may have met with foul play.”
“They went to the home and found the dead woman inside and immediately cordoned off the place,” he said.
“The two pre-school aged children lived with them and they are unharmed,” said Carr.
“This is extremely tragic, she is only 32-years-old and here you have two pre-school aged children who are not going to have their mom ever and their dad may go to jail until he is 58,” he said. “It is very tragic, terrible.”
Dhanoa appeared in Surrey Provincial Court on Wednesday.
