Educator and community activist, Priti Lamba has been nominated as the Conservative party of Canada candidate for Etobiocke North for the next federal election.

No other candidate filed for nomination.

Speaking to South Asian Observer, Priti said, "I am excited, surprised and feeling proud." Priti, who came to Canada in 1981, works as a teacher at Humber and Centennial Colleges.

She further added, "Canada was the last country to enter the global recession and is the first country to come out of it, that is all thanks to the strong and stable leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper."
