Chandigarh police book minor boy for making indecent video
( Nov 17 2009 )

The Chandigarh police have filed a case against a minor, after taking legal opinion, for allegedly making an indecent MMS of a schoolgirl on his mobile phone and for circulating it after copying it on compact discs (CDs), officials said Tuesday.

According to the police, they had got an anonymous typed complaint along with a video CD, containing the offensive video, around two months ago.

In the complaint, it was written that the obscene video, involving two minor boys and a minor girl, was shot in a local school. The complainant had introduced himself as 'Ram Rakha'.

The minor was identified as a resident of Ram Darbar, a suburb, and he is absconding.

"We have registered a case against a Class 10 student of a government school, under various sections of the Information Technology Act and of the Indecent Representation of the Woman Act. We had taken a legal opinion before registering this case," said Madhur Verma, superintendent of police (crime), Chandigarh.

"Police have identified the boy and very soon we will trace him."

However, so far, police have been unable to ascertain the identify of the complainant and the other boy and girl featuring in the MMS.(IANS)
